There is no party without Lionel Messi; Jordi Alba made that clear to his Inter Miami teammates during their on-pitch celebrations after winning the Leagues Cup.
Messi put up inspiring performances to push the worst team in Major League Soccer to a cup victory, with 10 goals and one assist in seven games, including a match-winning last-minute freekick on his debut.
His former Barcelona teammates, Jordi Alba and Sergio Busquets, joined him at Miami after both left the Spanish giants at the expiration of their contracts.
All three have contributed to help the club win its first-ever trophy, with the left-back scoring once and having two assists in five games and Busquets dominating the midfield.

According to MLS official Twitter, the team were gathered for the group photo for the trophy lift when Alba noticed Messi was absent; he stood up and stopped everything till Messi showed up.
Messi humbly lay on the grass, and the Spanish full-back led his teammates to chant their captain's name to a rapturous atmosphere in the group and stadium.
The game was decided on penalties after nothing could separate the two sides after 90 minutes. Messi opened the scoring for Miami in the first half and converted the first penalty in the shootout.
Alba and Busquets converted their spot kicks while goalkeeper Drake Callender stopped two efforts from Randall Leal and goalkeeper Elliott Panicco.
According to Sportskeeda, the stadium was sold out in less than 10 minutes, with resale tickets going as high as five times the original price due to Messi's influence.

Sports Brief reported Sergio Aguero's reaction to Inter Miami winning the Leagues Cup via penalties, and the video, copped from his Instagram story, went viral on Twitter.
As if he knew, the Argentine striker stood in front of the television hoping Callender saved the last spot kick, which he did, and Aguero burst into celebration in his living room.
